Winter Wonderland

We don't get a lot of snow in the Portland Metro area, our specialty is rain. Once in awhile though, things line up just right and a cold front coincides with some moisture. Over the past week, the weather hasn't been able to decide what it wants to do. It's been cold and dry, warmer and wet, it has even snowed, but just hasn't piled up yet. Well, last night it started snowing big fluffy flakes and it was cold enough to stick!! It has been snowing off and on most of the day today and we have about 5" of snow by 5:00 pm Saturday night. It's still snowing, but is supposed to turn into freezing rain sometime tonight. To many areas of the country, snow is just a fact of life and something to deal with every year. To us, it's just plain fun!

Wow! That does look like fun! Can't believe you can snowboard down your driveway! But there is proof - Amy and Matthew doing just that! So did you try it as well Ty? How about you Karen? Guess you will most likely have a white Christmas - or maybe brown if you don't get new snow! We will just continue to enjoy our blue skies and sunshine. We barbequed on the propane grill out on the patio. I know people (Trent, for one) will do it even when it snows but I'm not one of them! Have fun in the snow!

Yes, Karen and I both tried it. We quit while we were ahead though, so only one time each. We also BBQ'd some burgers on our cast iron hibachi grill! (Charcoal) I have to admit, I did it just inside the garage with the door open...lol

Awesome! My sister said they had 6" on the ground in Cannon Beach. Thanks for sharing the pics, I love the snow. That looks like a blast.
